Simply Southern TV

Alabama Farmers Cooperative and Alabama Farmers Federation have joined together to produce a statewide television show dedicated to agriculture and rural living. It inspires and educates viewers about farming, food and gardening while entertaining with stories about innovative entrepreneurs, talented artisans, outstanding young people and Alabama's hidden treasures.

There will be 26 episodes a year and each episode is made up of four segments:
Jim Allen hosts the eclectic/tourist segments such as Hummingbird banding, muscle car museums, fainting goats, freshwater shrimp, etc.
I host the youth segments including FFA events, agriculture field trips and livestock shows.
Kevin Worthington, who is also our camera man and producer, hosts agriculture/farming segments including Alabama's Outstanding Young Farm Family and the Farm of Distinction.
Sidney Phelps with Bonnie Plants explains the different varieties of plants, when & where to plant them and even how to use them in the kitchen.
Mary Johnson & Jim host the opening and closing for each episode, which is filmed on a beautiful set that resembles a log cabin.

Simply Southern premiered January 4th, 2015, so we had to be finished with filming by mid-December in order for editing and production. But we did it, we got it all finished and so far, have had good results from the show. There are a lot of people that help make this show happen, be sure to click on the links below to check out our Facebook for more information such as showtimes & stations, email us ideas & comments and if you missed it Sunday mornings, catch it on YouTube.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to help with the project, it's been a lot of fun traveling around the state filming different things. I hope you enjoy the show. We look forward to bringing you more episodes soon, we're already working on season 2! Here are a few pictures from some of the places I've filmed.
